Formed in 1992 in Ann Arbor, Tension Splash won national attention with their 1993 self-titled album recorded with gold-record producer Tim Patalan (Sponge) at The Loft. After a brief 25-year hiatus, the team remixed and remastered their eponymous album and EP with Tim, which lead to the release of their first new music in three decades. 2023’s "Firefly" turned into a tribute to bass player Mike Bertsch, who tragically passed away in 2020. "Willing" features blistering harmonies from Taproot front man Stephen Richards and updates the vintage T-Splash big-guitar sound of the 90s, with Gray's instantly identifiable voice in fine form, Nick tearing it up on lead guitar, Sean behind the drums, and Mike (in tracks recorded before his death) still thundering on bass. The band has been enjoying continued success in 2024 with more on the horizon.
